Amy here, and I am so excited to share my many daily adventures in CREATIVIY, DESIGN, and COLOR!
I hail from the great state of New Hampshire, and have made many stops along the way. I like to think of my life as one big, fun, exciting adventure. I started out as a young girl involved in lots of sports: basketball, soccer, softball, track. Track took me all the way through college, competing in the discus and hammer throw. You know that ball on a wire that people swing around their head? That adventure took me to 2009 when I graduated as an athletic trainer. Track took my on quite the escapade to Columbia University where I coached the throwing events. At this point in my life, I thought this is where I would stay for a while, that whole “on the fast track to success” thing. Well, adventure #3 blindsided me all with a simple email!
In 2010 I awoke to an email that has since changed my life. I began dating a FARMER. I QUICKLY learned all about the life of a dairy farmer and the hours they keep. Either way, he must have really liked me, I got the kid to come to NYC. Since then we have moved twice, rescued two beagles, ran a beef farm, raised about 80 some odd chickens and 7 goats (all at different times), attempted to train a pair of Holstein steers, bought our own tractor, and I learned to sew.
We moved to upstate NY in 2011, and that’s when I began Ruby Alice Designs. Since then it has been a whirlwind of ups and downs, triumphs and failures. Through all of it, we have grown and learned a lot about ourselves and what we want from life. Our goal is to one day be totally self-sufficient and self employed.
Stick with me, enjoy my projects, and cheer me on!
